Workwear
In some professions, workwear has a particularly important function. It serves as protection for the body. This is particularly widespread in the food industry and logistics. In addition to work clothing, gloves, safety shoes, jackets or hearing aids are also part of occupational safety.
Many companies have introduced workwear to underline the recognition value of the company. The aim is to create a "we" feeling among the employees with the workwear. At the same time, employees of the company should also be recognised externally. In this context, workwear is mostly practical and robust. The special clothing is provided by the employer - if it is prescribed - for the duration of the employment relationship.
Who covers the costs of workwear?
An interesting question for employees is how the costs for workwear are covered. Normally there is an agreement between the employer and the employee. Either the employee procures the clothing himself or the employer takes over the procurement and offsets the costs against the payment of wages. Sometimes employers provide the clothing at no cost to the employee. In this case, however, the clothing does not become the employee's property. When the employment relationship ends, the clothing is returned to the employer. In some cases, there is an option to deduct the cost of the clothing from tax as an employee. However, this does not apply to clothing according to a prescribed dress code.
What material are the products made of?
- Elastane
The synthetic fibre elastane is usually mixed with other textile fibres. Elastane gives the fabric a very high elasticity. Elastane can be stretched seven times and then returns to its original shape. Elastane feels very pleasant and soft on the skin. Therefore, the fabric is very suitable for dressing individual body shapes while maintaining a perfect fit.
- Polyester
Polyester is a synthetic fibre made from petroleum that is very easy to care for and insensitive to UV light. Polyester is very light, crack-resistant and abrasion-resistant. Therefore, polyester is indispensable in the modern fashion industry today. Polyester fabric is easy-care, non-iron, heat-resistant, breathable, shape-retaining, elastic, crease-resistant, soft, light- and weather-resistant and does not shrink. The fibre is generally not very absorbent but transports moisture well.
