What are detectable products?
Detectable products are a special topic in the food industry and in sensitive areas of the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. In these areas, 100% hygiene is required.
Detectable products are working materials that can be detected by a detector machine. This means that detectable products can be reliably detected if they are to enter production. The detectors work at various points in food and pharmaceutical production and detect foreign bodies and impurities.
Metal and X-ray detectors
Basically, there are two possibilities: Metal detectors and X-ray detectors. Metal detectors (X-Ray) detect electromagnetic parts, such as a metal band in the bonnet or an aluminium foil in a plaster. An X-ray detector detects special threads that are integrated in a plaster, for example. Both systems work very reliably.
Blue colour of detectable products
Most detectable products have a blue colour. The eye-catching blue colour makes it easier to visually recognise the items. Since blue food does not naturally exist, the blue products provide optimal contrast and can be very easily detected if they accidentally fall into production.
