Maximum Protection in coldstores with our gloves.

In working environments with temperatures ranging from 5°C to -49°C, gloves are an indispensable companion. Our cold protection gloves offer not only optimal protection but also ensure mobility and wearing comfort. Learn more about their cleaning, standards, materials, and variations.

For which activities should gloves be worn?

Cold protection gloves should be worn for all activities carried out in environments such as coldstores or freezers, with temperatures ranging from 5°C to -49°C. The protection of the hands is paramount.

How long can I wear the gloves?

The duration of use depends on individual strain and working conditions. It is recommended to change the gloves regularly to ensure maximum protection.

Can the gloves be cleaned?

Coarse dirt on the gloves can be removed with a damp cloth with little pressure.

However, to avoid damaging the surface of our cold storage gloves, we advise against deep cleaning.

Furthermore, it is not advisable to clean gloves with chemicals, as this can compromise the structure and natural protective barrier of the gloves.

Is wearing hand protection mandatory?

There are no food regulations that generally require the wearing of liquid-tight gloves.
The Food Hygiene Regulation only states that persons working in areas where food is handled must maintain a high level of personal cleanliness.
The necessity for wearing liquid-tight protective gloves is mandated in occupational medicine for tasks involving cleaning and disinfecting agents, chemicals, and working with simple cleaning agents.

What standards must cold protection gloves meet?

DIN EN 511:2006

DIN EN 511 specifies the requirements for protective gloves that protect against cold.

This standard describes the minimum requirements for thermal conductivity, thermal conductivity when cold, breathability, waterproofness, abrasion resistance and ageing resistance. EN 511 ensures that protective gloves protect effectively in extreme cold conditions and protect the wearer from injuries caused by hypothermia. The choice of a protective glove for use in cold conditions should be based on EN 511 to ensure that it meets the requirements and adequately protects the user.

DIN EN 388:2019

EN 388 explains the test procedures to make all PPE category II and III protective gloves (protection against medium and irreversible/lethal risks) comparable with each other in terms of their mechanical performance. When choosing between glove A and glove B, the user should be able to identify which of the two gloves is more suitable for his intended use.

For EN 388, every glove must pass the basic requirements for a protective glove. This is all stated in EN 420. When assessing mechanical protective gloves, the focus is placed on 6 properties: Abrasion resistance, cut resistance according to conventional methods, tear resistance, puncture resistance, cut resistance according to new methods and protection against impacts.

What materials are gloves made of?

Depending on the type of glove, a variation of advanced and specialized materials is used. We offer our customers gloves made of materials such as polyester, leather, spandex, polyester, aramid, polyurethane, Kevlar, or even a 3M Thinsulate insulation.

What types of freezer gloves are available?

Our customers can choose from a variety of gloves. From 5-finger gloves to 3-finger gloves to mittens, we offer exactly what you need. In addition, you have the choice between knitted cuffs or overlapping cuffs.

Ultimately, the range is very large, so we have the right gloves for every need.

Are cold protection gloves also touchscreen compatible?

To allow you to use gloves in conjunction with tablets and picking devices, some of our cold storage gloves are touchscreen compatible.
