The EN 17353 standard pertains to high-visibility clothing for medium risks. It has been developed to increase the visibility of workers who operate in environments where visibility is important but the EN ISO 20471 standard is not required.

Types:The standard distinguishes between two types:
- Type A: This type of gear is used by individuals when there is a risk of not being seen in daylight. Only fluorescent materials are used.
- Type B: This gear is worn by individuals when there is a risk of not being seen only in darkness. To enhance visibility, this gear uses only retroreflective materials.
- Type B1: Freely hanging retroreflective products designed for the recognition of movement.
- Type B2: Retroreflective products or retroreflective material that is temporarily or permanently affixed to limbs.
- Type B3: Retroreflective material located on the torso or on the torso and limbs.
- Type AB: This gear is used by individuals when there is a risk of not being seen in daylight, dusk, or darkness. It combines both fluorescent and retroreflective materials.
