Personal Protective Equipment for the Food Industry.

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is used for self-protection during potentially hazardous activities at work. To protect health and ensure safety. The PPE articles support daily work in the food industry and logistics. Detectable goggle straps, earplugs, detectable plasters and glove holders are available in different designs.

What is a PPE product?
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is equipment that the wearer wears or holds as protection against risks to their health or safety.

What is the PPE Regulation?
The PPE Regulation governs the conditions and guidelines for the distribution of personal protective equipment. The regulation gives basic safety requirements that PPE must fulfil so that the health of the wearer is not endangered. The guidelines and conditions are intended to ensure a uniform level of safety within the European market. Among other things, the classification into the respective PPE categories is defined.

What are the PPE categories?
Each PPE shall be categorised according to the risk categories set out in Annex 1 in the PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425. The categorisation is made according to the risk against which the PPE is intended to protect.

Category I includes only minor risks.

Category II includes risks that are not listed under category I or category III. Any PPE not subject to categories I and III are automatically category II.

Category III includes only those risks that can lead to very serious consequences such as death or irreversible damage to health. Also 5 other risks belong to category III: drowning, cuts from hand-held chainsaws, high-pressure steel, injuries from projectiles or knife wounds and harmful noise.

How long can I use PSA articles?

The service life of the articles is determined by various influences. This depends, among other things, on the storage times, storage conditions, weather conditions, state of care or type of use and its conditions.
