Metal and X-ray detectors
Basically, there are two possibilities: Metal detectors and X-ray detectors.
Metal detectors (X-Ray) detect electromagnetic parts, such as material incorporated in the bonnet or an aluminium foil in a plaster. An X-ray detector detects special threads that are integrated into a plaster, for example. Both systems work very reliably.
Why are the products blue?
Most detectable products have a blue colour. The eye-catching blue colour makes it easier to visually recognise the items. Since blue food does not naturally exist, the blue products provide optimal contrast and can be easily detected if they accidentally fall into production.
How do detectable objects work?
The metal incorporated in the detectable items is detected by metal detectors. This allows items such as cutters or knives to be detected and removed before they pass through food production.
