Our drying systems are easy to install and set up.
Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions about commissioning,
required connections, and the control system of our devices.

Can I set up the dryers myself?

The drying cabinet or drying panel is delivered as a plug & play product. This means it only needs to be plugged into a power outlet and is ready for immediate use. The only exception is our wall-mounted drying panels, which need to be mounted on the wall first. To do this, simply mark the appropriate spots for the wall plugs, drill the holes, insert the plugs, and hang the drying panel. After that, the same rule applies: plug it in and start using it right away!

Is my order complete, or do I need additional accessories for operation?

The ordered device is delivered as a complete package according to the scope of delivery and is ready for operation.

At what temperatures can I operate the dryers?

The two exhaust air variants, Tantum and Primus, require a minimum ambient temperature of 15°C for efficient operation and fast drying.

The condensation drying models from our Econ series can be effectively used at ambient temperatures as low as 7°C.

Can I program the control unit myself, even if I have no experience with electronics?

Yes, the control unit is self-explanatory and easy to use in just a few steps, even for beginners.

Can I plug the dryers into a standard household outlet?

Yes, all our Dry & Protect products can be operated using a standard 230V/16A household power outlet.

What are the advantages of the Econ condensation dryer compared to the Tantum and Primus exhaust air systems?

For consistently high moisture removal regardless of ambient temperature, the Econ condensation dryers are ideal. They also offer clear advantages over the Tantum and Primus exhaust air variants when operating in low ambient temperatures and for preventing additional humidity in the room.

What are the differences between the Tantum Set and the Primus Set in terms of drying time?

Both drying systems are equally efficient and provide comparable heating performance specific to their variants. However, when drying pants and jackets, the Primus model has a slight advantage due to heat accumulation in the cabinet design.

When should I use stainless steel devices?

All Dry & Protect products are made of fire-galvanized steel with a high-quality RAL 7016 anthracite gray powder coating. This coating already provides excellent corrosion protection—even in contact with seawater, as commonly encountered in the fishing industry. However, stainless steel variants are indispensable in certain industries, such as the food sector, due to legal regulations.

Some competitor products are cheaper. What makes WINTERSTEIGER products different?

Maintenance & Additional Options

Is the disinfection option really useful? Should I order it?

The combination of drying and disinfection makes WINTERSTEIGER Dry & Protect products ideal for a wide range of applications. That’s why we recommend always ordering the cost-effective and maintenance-free Sterex disinfection unit as a precaution.

The Competence Center for Technical Hygiene and Applied Microbiology Dr. Schmelz GmbH in Malsfeld, Germany, has tested and certified a disinfection efficiency of 99.9%.

Can I add the disinfection option later?

Yes, but retrofitting is very costly. This should be considered when purchasing a Dry & Protect product.

Do the dryers require maintenance?

Our Dry & Protect products are designed to be particularly low-maintenance. For example, only the air intake slots on the back of the device need to be vacuumed or dusted at regular intervals.
