The Solution for Drying, Disinfecting, and Neutralizing Odours of Work Shoes & Boots
As a manufacturing company, such as a butcher, do you often face the challenge of how to effectively clean, dry and disinfect work shoes and boots during break times or after work?
The Tantum boot dryer from the Tantum Series is the ideal solution for this.
In this blog, we present the Tantum Boot with all the important information.
Overview of all facts about the Tantum Series:
The Tantum Boot is an open drying panel in the form of a drying cabinet, specially developed for work shoes and work boots.
The Tantum Boot is part of the Tantum Series, which includes various product groups, including the Tantum Var drying panel for 4 pairs of shoes and the Tantum Boot for up to 40 pairs of shoes.
Both the Tantum Var and Tantum Boot are ideal for safety shoes and work boots and enable quick drying, cleaning and disinfection.
Thanks to their space-saving, open and flexible design, they are suitable for any room. Stands or wall brackets are also optionally available.
They are controlled via the integrated, intuitive and simple xControl control unit, which is available in many languages. This enables efficient time and energy management with individually definable drying cycles.
With the integrated SpeedDry technology, your shoes and boots are ready for use again within a few hours. This is achieved by the built-in blow drying system, consisting of a powerful fan and a heating system. The air supplied to the drying system can also be heated to ensure even faster drying of the shoes. This gives you the option of choosing between air drying or warm air drying.
The Tantum Boot guarantees gentle and energy-efficient drying at a low temperature of maximum 40°C.
The aim is to increase employee motivation, minimise sickness-related absences and save energy by reducing germs, bacteria and unpleasant odours. The standard of hygiene is also significantly improved as the drying systems eliminate up to 99.9 % of viruses.
The Tantum Series is made of hot-dip galvanised quality sheet metal of grade A with powder coating, which ensures ideal corrosion protection. It is impact and scratch resistant and easy to clean. All components meet the highest safety standards.
What economic aspects speak for drying systems?
Our drying systems provide a gentle drying process at a low temperature and high air volume.
The timer function ensures energy-efficient use. Employees are more motivated and more efficient, and sickness absence is reduced.
In addition, the drying systems can be expanded, easily maintained and serviced at any time.
We offer solutions for drying, germ reduction and odour neutralisation for all types of work and operational clothing as well as sportswear.
Both open and closed drying systems make an important contribution to hygiene and therefore to the health of employees and guests.
Our systems also increase the service life of the high-quality equipment and impress with their energy-efficient operation compared to conventional drying rooms.
The Tantum Boot is primarily used in food production, especially in meat production, industry and logistics.
Strict hygiene conditions prevail in manufacturing companies, which make the use of the Tantum Boot necessary.
Optionally, the Tantum Boot can be equipped with Sterex Plasma Technology for disinfection.
The integration of Sterex Plasma Technology into the Tantum Boot achieves effective disinfection and odour reduction of safety shoes and boots.
In this process, air is charged through a high-voltage electrode, producing a disinfecting, non-thermal plasma that efficiently reduces germs in the air, on surfaces, and textiles. This system is maintenance-free, requires no chemical additives, and is completely safe for humans.
Disinfection occurs without the use of toxic or environmentally harmful chemicals and is highly effective against viruses, bacteria, mold, and spores. Moreover, the Sterex system also neutralizes SARS-CoV-2 viruses in the air and on surfaces.
Unlike ozone, the system is non-oxidizing.
Additionally, ozone does not have disinfecting properties but merely acts as a cleaner.
The effectiveness of the Sterex system has been confirmed and recognized by the Competence Center for Technical Hygiene and Applied Microbiology, Dr. Schmelz GmbH, in Malsfeld, Germany.
Unlike most competitors, the Tantum Boot operates without adding ozone as a cleaning agent.
Because ozone attacks the material during shoe and boot cleaning and disinfection, resulting in damage to the outer material, we advise against this method. The material may discolor, harden, or become damaged. Moreover, ozone can be environmentally harmful, dangerous to health, and potentially carcinogenic to humans.
Over time, safety shoes and boots can accumulate bacteria, germs, fungi, and unpleasant odours. Superficial cleaning with shoe disinfectants or brushes is insufficient because these contaminants cannot be completely removed, especially inside the shoes.
Additionally, the chemical composition of cleaning and disinfectant agents can affect the shoe material, leading to dryness or damage to the outer material.
Regular, thorough cleaning and disinfection of shoes using specialized drying equipment are essential to effectively remove contaminants.
The frequency of cleaning should correspond to the intended use and wear of the shoes. In highly demanding environments or exposure to harmful substances, daily cleaning and disinfection of shoes are recommended.
In manufacturing companies like food production, shoes can be contaminated with bacteria and germs, for example, from leaking meat juices or other food residues.
Furthermore, oils, fats, or chemicals can soil shoes in logistics.
Unpleasant odours can also develop after prolonged use or in specific work environments within shoes.
Air drying is not advisable as different materials like leather can become brittle and stiff.
Additionally, drying safety shoes and work boots using the heat generated by a heater is not recommended as this can cause deformation.
Professional drying systems are specially designed and tested for effective and safe drying, whereas homemade solutions may not offer the desired performance and safety.
We do not recommend building a shoe or boot dryer yourself.
In summary, the Tantum Boot drying system from the Tantum Series is the optimal solution for manufacturing companies like butcher shops to effectively clean, dry, disinfect, and thus reduce sick leave due to work shoes and boots.
Through its special technology, the Tantum Boot enables fast drying at low temperatures, reliably removing germs, bacteria, viruses, and unpleasant odours.
